Fourtieth Anniversary celebrations for Disability Initiative with HRH

Yesterday, The Countess of Wessex as Patron, attended the Fourtieth Anniversary celebrations for Disability Initiative at the Resource Centre in Surrey. DI is an established charity that specialises in the provision of services to adults with complex physical disabilities and acquired brain injury.

The Countess has been a Patron since 2003 and over the years has supported the charity on many occasions. My post on HRH’s Patronage can be found here.

“The event was attended by over 250 people who included clients, past and present, their carers, former and current staff, trustees and volunteers along with other dignitaries and VIPs. The President Bill Biddell opened the night with a very comical speech, which led into the rhythmic tongue of Lucy Brown telling a potted 40 year history of the Charity.” Full press release at DI website, here. It is nice to see this timeline and the support over the years by the Countess. It is a balancing act as to which organization is going to get the limelight year after year, but this is a glimpse of her work. Beautiful. Congratulations to them.
