The Brendoncare Foundation’s Patron visits Otterbourne Hill & Knightwood Court

Today, 9th November, The Countess of Wessex as The Brendoncare Foundation‘s Patron attended a Ground Breaking Ceremony for Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill. Shared Care at Otterbourne Hill will be a pioneering dementia service, unique in the UK, that enables couples to stay together and receive full care and support, as and when it is needed, throughout their journey with dementia.

It will be the first service in the UK to support those with dementia and their carers to live meaningful, independent and fulfilled lives, from diagnosis for as long as is needed, minimising anxiety and upheaval for families as they cope with this devastating disease. Knightwood Court, the new residential and respite home, provides people with a warm and safe environment with focused care that puts the individual at the heart of everything we do. Set in over four acres of private landscaped gardens, Brendoncare Knightwood lies within Valley Park with its mature woods and open space, midway between Winchester, Romsey and Southampton.
