Today, I have finished Week 8 of my Diamond Challenge! I am SO close to my goal, only one more week to go! Again, an explanation of how Week 8 looks. For the runs in Week 8, you begin with a brisk 5-minute warm-up walk then 28 minutes of running. The NHS also explains that by now, you should be getting comfortable with the longer runs but you still need to concentrate on completing the 28 minutes without going too fast. The plan sets three runs per week with a day of rest between each run.

My first run was completed on Saturday after 3 days of rest. I was planning on running earlier but weather, fever and workload messed with my plans. I must say the run went well. It wasn’t great or easy, it was especially hard to finish it, but I’ve made it. Also from this point, stopping or starting again wasn’t an option for me, I was determined to finish what I’ve started, especially so close to my goal.

I call this place my very own, Bois de Boulogne… |
2nd run of this week was on Tuesday after 2 days of rest, on Monday rain and freezing temperature scared me. Thankfully the next day was very sunny, not much warmer, but sunny and I was starting work in the afternoon, so I could do my run in the morning. Again, run went quite well, I wasn’t experiencing any pain in legs etc, just after a while you get really tired and sweaty. Again, proper clothes are essential because with a very cold wind it is a recipe for some serious cold. And that is never fun.

Finally, I have finished my 8th Week today, that is on Friday. Today is a National Independence Day in Poland, it is a day free from work, so I was able to finish this Week a day sooner. Also I have no more groundbreaking news for you, other than running really helps soothe your brain and after a good run you feel very much uplifted. You see a difference in your everyday life, in your body (it is getting firmer), and even in your skin. I have never had more smooth skin on my face and I have been dealing with acne for more than 20 years, as you see, it is a long time! So if you are still thinking of starting running, think no more, just do it. Perhaps choose different time of year, as autumnal/winter weather can disappoint you a lot 🙂 Just do not give up. Week 9, final week of my challenge – here I come!
Congratulations on such amazing progress Anna, you are amazing.
