Royal family celebrates Easter at Windsor

Happy Easter everyone, hope you all enjoy family time, and that the weather is lovely! We had sun, rain, wind and even snow, all in one day! Her Majesty arrived by car alongside the Duke of Edinburgh at St George’s Chapel where she was greeted by the Dean of Windsor, the Right Reverend David Connor.

The Earl & Countess of Wessex with Lady Louise have joined The Queen and Prince Philip along with the rest of royal family for a traditional Easter Sunday church service at Windsor Castle.

The Countess has walked with her daughter Lady Louise, Princess Beatrice and Autumn Phillips (the wife of the Queen’s grandson Peter Phillips), Autumn’s hat is by Emily-London (info via Daily Mail).

Sophie looked very happy and relaxed, her daughter has grown into a lovely lady. It’s always a joy to see those two together. Lady Louise’s dress is by Dolce & Gabbana Poplin Rosehip Print from SS2014, her coat is by Pale Cloud in Aida style, it was worn several times before.

Others who attended today’s service: Prince Andrew, Princess Anne with her husband Timothy Laurence and her son Peter Phillips, also Lady Sarah Chatto with her family. There were few other members with whom I’m not familiar.

We haven’t seen The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge – to be true, they haven’t attended this service in Windsor yet. The Duchess however is preparing for the birth of her second child. I hope it will be a girl, though it doesn’t really matter, as long as child is healthy. More in articles by Daily Mail & Express, Zimbio gallery, video via Telegraph.

Sophie’s hat debuted last year for the Easter service, sadly I wasn’t able to ID it ever since. Post here.

New bracelet by Links of London, Gold Effervescent Xs Glitter Bracelet. Sold out.

New Prada Brown Suede Pointtoe Pumps.
Clutch by Sophie Habsburg Design in Moneypenny style.

Disappointed that this was Sophie's choice of Easter hat, as much as it suits her, it is very ugly and should be put to rest. Autumn Phillips looks great also!

I don't agree, to me this all-feather hat is elegant and works well with the coat and shoes. Lady Louise's print dress is so fresh ! As much as I appreciate the Cambridges, it's always great to get news and pictures from all members of the Royal family, especially the Wessexes. Thank you !

Well, I have to admit that the Queen and Princess Anne turned out much nicer in their outfits. Though we have seen Sophie's outfit before, it seemed most everyone have kept everything “low key” today. I don't know, it's kind of refreshing. No drama and no one really standing out, that sort of thing, and Sophie just being around “family”, enjoying the day with them.

So I guess we won't be seeing Sophie until April 21st. Thanks for updating her Royal Diary. She is going to Prague, Czech Republic on May 19th-20th. Fantastic!

Great post – thanks Anna. Why don't we ever see Sophie's son, James? I could understand the need to keep him at home when he was young, but surely he's old enough now.
